Running Workshops

TempoFit Running Workshops are a great way to take your running to the next level in a fun group setting with interactive coaching. They’re always a big hit around New Zealand. So, stay tuned for when we’ll be visiting you!

Our Running Workshops are designed to suit runners where they’re at:

  • Learn-to-Run: For those just starting out or returning to running and want help with getting past that 3-week and then 3-month hump. Running speeds are kept low in this workshop as we focus on understanding how your body and mind interact when running. Discover the keys for building consistency and enjoyment in running with practical technique and training tips. Session includes foundational drills and stretches and a total of 5-10 minutes of running broken up into bite-sized pieces. Ideal for those who are not yet able to run 5k non-stop.
  • Get Faster: You’ve been running for a while but you’re wanting to improve your times (like hitting a certain parkrun goal or marathon time). This workshop includes speed work, drills, technique coaching and strategies for adapting your training to a get-faster approach. About 40 minutes of running in the session. Ideal for those who can run 5k non-stop or more.
  • Becoming a Hybrid Runner: If you’re a CrossFit or Hyrox athlete or gym goer wanting to run more and you want to dial in that running so it starts to become a strength in your hybrid arsenal, this workshop is for you! We cover off many of the mistakes athletes make when they come into running from a strength or gym-orientated background. This workshop has a significant focus on technique, pace judgement, and optimising your running training around your other athletic commitments. About 30 minutes of running in the session. Ideal for anyone whose main sport/exercise is not running, but wants to improve their running in order to improve their sport or fitness race.

Led by TempoFit head coach and athletics commentator Hayden Shearman, each Running Workshop covers off key running technique cues as well as learning drills and exercises to help you become a smoother and more efficient runner.

The sessions are 75mins long, come in your running gear (and bring a bottle, warm clothes for when we’re not running, towel and sunscreen) and look for the TempoFit flags.

We keep workshop sizes to no more than 12 so that coaching can be tailored to everyone in the group. Minimum group numbers apply.

How much do the workshops cost? $45 per person (or two for $70) payment is due at sign up.

Will I fit in at a TempoFit Running Workshop? Absolutely! We’re a welcoming bunch. And it helps if you consider which workshop is right for you. If in doubt, drop Hayden a message and he can help get you in the right workshop. All workshops are welcome for ages 16 and up.

What if the weather’s bad? We will postpone the workshop and contact you that day with details. If you can’t make the postponed date, we will refund your ticket minus the administration charges.
